All I Want for Christmas is Candy: Fudge

Not only is homemade fudge a delicious addition to any Christmas candy plate or holiday spread–it’s really easy to make. Here’s a simple version:

  • 3 cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate or semi-sweet, as you prefer)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • Dash salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans–I recommend the latter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Line 9-in square pan with waxed paper. Melt chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and salt together in saucepan. Turn off heat. Stir in chopped nuts and vanilla. Spread in wax paper-lined pan. Refrigerate 2 hours or until cooled. Use wax paper to remove from pan. Cut into squares or diamonds. Refrigerate until eating or gifting.

  1. I make the same recipe every xmas but with one package of semi-sweet chocolate squares (8 of the bricks) instead of the chips, works just as well and there’s no need to measure. Also butterscotch or peanut butter chips can be put in to the cooling mixture for more variety.
