Contribute to the Internet Food Association’s Food Porn!

Commenter Megan asks:

I can’t figure out how to contact you without leaving a comment… so I was just wondering how you find the food porn. Is there a Flickr group I need to join and post pictures to?

I’m glad you asked, Megan! The food porn feature seems to be more popular than I expected. Until now, I’ve just been using Flickr images that look tasty and posting them, but it’d be even more fun to have our beloved readers submit their own awesome pictures of food to the Flickr group I just created. Go to the page, join the group, and start submitting pictures!

There are a couple of guidelines members of the group should follow. First, although “porn” is in the title, please only submit food and not actual porn. This is a family blog, people.

Second, please set your photo permissions to a Creative Commons license. We’re living in the modern Internet age, and we believe in legally sharing photos. Also, it makes it impossible for me to use them unless you have your permissions set up this way. (You can set this up by going into Your Account/Privacy & Permissions and editing the “What license will your content have” section.)

Third, it would be awesome (but is not required) if you would post a link or otherwise let people know how you made the food in the description area of the photo page. I always link back to the original Flickr page, so when people click on the photo they can see any information the user left about the photo. That way, people can try their hand at replicating your artful food.

You guys should probably use this photo pool when posting food photos on your respective day-job blogs, too.
