  1. Cookie dough would not last in my refrigerator for 36 hours. Somehow it would magically disappear, and I would have nobody to blame because I live with myself now.

  2. I have made these twice and they are by far, my favorite cookie. The flavor is complex and deep and it’s a total indulgence (if not a pain to make). Yummy!

  3. Believe me, when it came time to bake, I only had a half batch. That was still enough to blow minds, though. Best cookies ever.

  4. I have used this recipe about thirty times since reading the article, tweaking every variable to see how it affected the final product. After all that experimenting, I have to confess; the aging doesn’t seem to make an appreciable difference. It’s like the subtle nuances in a fine red that the sommelier says are there, but I just can’t find. Ok, maybe the caramel tones were a bit darker and more interesting, but not worth waiting 36 hours for! ;) That said, for me (and the recipients of those thirty or so bakings): Best. chocolate. chip. cookie. recipe. ever.
