Senior Official Vouches For Obama’s South-Asian Culinary Prowess

Never did I imagine that I’d ever be doing anything  resembling Obama-administration reporting for the Internet Food Association. Even-less-than-never did I ever imagine that I’d do anything resembling Obama-administration reporting for the Internet Food Association on a day that I spent chasing a CIA story. But today is a day beyond the realm of possibility, since after a senior administration official read this post about President Obama’s interview with Dawn — in which the president professed to cook such Pakistani fare as keema, daal and “you name it” — I received this message:

Right after that Dawn interview I had a conversation with POTUS about Pakistani food. He described in detail how he makes beef curry. Didn’t talk Urdu poetry, but he definitely knows how to cook the food.

This is truly a day of milestones. The senior official continued, “In the hallway outside afterwards, POTUS told senior staff that he could do beef or chicken curry, depending on whichever Gibbs wanted.”
