Sometimes the Internet brings forth something that really makes me grateful to live in a time when people are willing to spend their time creating useless-but-entertaining websites. To wit Fancy Fast Food in which items from chain restaurants are deconstructed and then reconstructed in things that look like fine dining. Things get started with the impressive, but still fairly intuitive, McSteak and Potatoes and today’s entry really blew my mind.

My guess is that the results would be fairly gross if actually ingested but as a kind of conceptual art it’s pretty brilliant. It also nicely illustrates how some of our intuitive connections between presentation and actual food content work.
