All I Want for Christmas is Cookies: Peanut Butter Secrets

My brother-in-law, Jonathan Kurtz, makes these cookies every year at Christmas. A better name for them is probably “heart attack cookies,” given the ingredients, but they are very tasty.

Mix well

1 cup butter-flavored Crisco

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

Add in:

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla

Mix well and blend in:

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt


40-45 bite-sized Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Roll into balls + cover Reese cups. Bake 8-10 min. at 375. Let cool and glaze.


1 tsp butter-flavored Crisco

1 cup chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. peanut butter.

(I assume you melt these together in a saucepan to make the glaze.)
